The challenge
Context
AWS User Groups Pwani needed a visual language that could hold a community, a campaign and a live event at once — and grow a presence that had little existing social footprint.

AWS User Groups Pwani
How I approached it
Approach
The work started with the people in the room: what would make a coastal Kenya AWS community feel local, credible and worth showing up for. From there, the brand, campaign and event materials were treated as one system rather than separate deliverables.
Building the visual system
Design
The identity was built to travel — from social posts to stage graphics, merchandise and print — so the community could recognise itself across every surface of AWS Community Day Kenya, Pwani Edition.

From screen to reality
Execution
The system moved off the screen into posters, apparel, banners, stage graphics, YouTube thumbnails, social media and the materials people actually held at the event.

What I learned
Reflection
Community design is not only a logo. It is a system that has to work in a room, on a feed, and over time. The growth followed the consistency of that system.
